HOLY SIX ARMED PING PONG PLAYING MERFOLK!

BAND: Irepress
COUNTRY: United States of America (Massachusetts)
ALBUM: Sol Eye Sea I
GENRE: Sludge / Post-Rock / Progressive Metal(?)

Notes:
God yes fuck yeah! you are my favorite Sludge album ever! better than Windmills by the Ocean and Giant Squid combined.

I simply cannot stress enough how much of a HIGHLY RECOMMENDED album this is so I'll just leave you guys with a bolded HIGLY RECOMMENDED text set to the largest font.

This is simply awesome

BAND: Water Fai
COUNTRY: Empire of Japan
ALBUM: Girls in the White Dream
GENRE: Post-Rock

Notes:
An all female Post-Rock band from Japan. as opposed to explosions, MONO, godspeed or halda. The band doesn't need to build up any sonic climax for the listener. this is musical bliss without the eargasm.

Water Fai are a Japanese psychedelic-pop band, formed in Osaka in 2002. These four women dynamically contrast intricate melodies and soft harmonies with violent guitar-noise and electronic effects. They bring a much needed feminine approach to the post-rock genre that is so often dominated by male artists (and their biggest influences) like Mogwai and Tortoise. They bring their own translation of the sentimentality captured best by The Album Leaf and Yo La Tengo.

miimi

Harvest Moon: Back to Nature

BAND: Ossein
COUNTRY: United States of America
ALBUM: Declination
GENRE: Atmospheric / Experimental / Black Metal / Post-Rock (IMO)

Notes:
I've seen a rise in Farmer/Liberal Black Metal discussion lately, mainly by people who are mislead as to what Black Metal is.

So I decided to post this little gem. A band 3 years younger than their Cherry Picking counterparts and one that is very enjoyable as far as opinions go.

The band is VERY original and isn't one that would rip their Wisconsin (Correct me if I'm wrong) Bonfire marshmallow eating counterpart Wolves in the Throne Room, but there certainly are a few influence here and there and if you've never heard of WitTR you'd think that these guys do it better than WitTR.

They also have the same Ideals (If you're into Musical Ideologies) They're both Leftists or somesort... Yeah, just thought I'd throw that in there..

Yadda Yadda Yadda insert more text that no one would read...

Oh, I tried to find my high res album pic but failed so forgive me, guys. Have their band pic and logo instead.

EDIT: The post below this awesome btw, so check it out.

Intense Post Rock Instrumental POW PACHEEEW POW POW PACHEEEEW

For some reason I cant upload the album image but whatever.
Been ages since my last upload and this one wont disappoint. So enjoy.

Band- And So I Watch You From Afar

For fans of that spunky, zappy, post rock sound of bands like A.Armada.

Great tunes from Ireland. Set Guitars to Kill is a real highlight of this album. Just a fresh breath of life everyone.

saturday night and I'm feverous

local act SALOME: slow. heavy. female-fronted. doom.

Salome - Salome (66.6 MB)

next is Fall of Efrafa, a heavy, crusty, experimental post-hardcore, post-rockish band whose unique music is based upon "a re-imagining of the mythological and political overtones in the book "watership down" by Richard Adams, focusing their efforts in forwarding atheist/animal rights ideologies". long, heavy, dark, almost depressive stuff. here are the first two of the three-part set entitled "The Warren of Snares", as well as the track "Tharn":

Fall of Efrafa - Owsla
OWSLA (meaning warrior or defender), the first record, created the narrative of an unnamed society in the final throws of a war against mankind. A society that still clings to the dwindling beliefs of its elders, yet struggles to break free of stagnating ideology.

Fall of Efrafa - Elil
ELIL (meaning enemy, or predator)was their second full length and dealt with these beliefs, and the oppressive reign of religious indoctrination. In this chapter, the society finally overthrows the rule of their god, Frith.

The final chapter, which they are currently writing, is called INLE (meaning both death, and the name of a deific character within the societies beliefs) This is the final recording effort of Fall of efrafa, and also the end of the trilogy. It will deal with hope in the face of death. (Fall '09 Release)

Fall of Efrafa - Tharn

many thanks to Seeeing Red for everything.

what better way to finish off your Saturday than with 3 Way Cum?
one of my current favorite crust punk bands, these releases take a load of metal influence and shove it down the throat of crust punk, taking their sound to a very dirty, crushing edge.

You wouldn't even notice the album playing...

Band: Anoice
Album: Remmings
Genre: Post-Rock / Neo-Classical??
Country: Japan

Notes:
It is so boring that you wouldn't even notice it playing.
If you've heard of Atsuo's (Boris Drummer) Post-Rock side project, Rollo. then you can expect almost the same with this one, absolutely melancholic and boring.

It is so boring that I give it a 5 out of 5. Highly Recommended for introverts and boring people.

Also, others say that the music have a few Neo-Classical elements, but so far I've heard nothing except for the actual usage of Classical instruments on some tracks so I am a bit skeptical about it.. or maybe I just didn't notice it.

ALBUM OF 2008

Band: Mutyumu
Album: Il y a
Genre: Post-Rock / Classical / Experimental

Download (Windiafire)

Notes:
This band was posted here by Gabe not too long ago, and here I am posting their best release yet.

What is it? It's rather hard to define, but it certainly isn't something you'll find in Hot Topic or lame corporate distros.

The music is a mix of Classical, Post-Rock and Experimental parts with Operatic vocals sometimes accompanied by some Screamo like Screams.
The thing with this music is that everything is driven by two major Instruments played in such a weird manner that it gives you this bizzarro atmosphere, the piano and drums.

Easily the best album of 2008.

Gabe also have this up on his blog and that's the only reason I posted this, I don't want to fall behind. This is supposed to go along with my fuck-ton uploads of Post-Rock.

Anyway, just enjoy. Don't forget Mutyumu's self-titled album uploaded by Gabe.

BEAUTIFUL IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT...

Artist: Sigur Ros
Album: Takk
Genre: Post-Rock / Shoegaze

Download (Windiafire)
Download (Megawinload)

Notes:
Simply the best band EVER. Saeglopur was my first song from Sigur Ros and If I remember correctly I heard the song back in 05 or something, but never really bothered checking out the band. A year later and I ran to Sigur Ros once again during a random conversation with a friend. I read reviews and stuff about how beautiful the band is and I knew I HAD to check them out with this kind of hype....
I guess you know what happens after that.

This btw is still my favorite album, though I haven't checked the latest release from the band.

Hurt - Vol. 1

Fucking awesome awesome album. I guess you could call it post-rock. This album is filled with so much emotion that it just draws me in. Everything is great, down to the guitars, the drums, the bass, the violins in the background. It all meshes to create an amazing effect.

Ocoai - Breatherman

Band: Ocoai
Location: United States
Genre: Post-Rock/Sludge

When thinking of this band, the only way I'm able to put the sound to words is if Leviathan-era Mastodon had a misbegotten child with Pre-City Of Echoes Pelican that was raised on indie rock. Of course, I might be just going for the tried and true "X had a kid with Y" metaphor, but thats for you to decide once you listen to Ocoai's amazing debut.

In all seriousness, this album has an impeccable flow, once you start listening, you'll hardly realize that the song has changed because of how effortlessly Ocoai seem to be able to change ideas. The energy of this album is tremendous, with repetition building to perfect climaxes and apexes which drop into stark sections of melodic minimalism, all to start over again, building you up once more. The album is masterful in the true sense of the word.

Pass judgement...

Blueneck - Scars of the Midwest

Artist: Blueneck
Location: United Kingdom
Genre: Post-Rock

Contemporaries of the much more famous Mogwai, Blueneck play a similar style, with the difference being a distinct melancholic touch, with a very Pink Floyd-esque take on the sound of sadness. Visit their official site for more information here.

Walk the path...
