Midori is back with a new single which is under the label Sony Japan (Long Live the Sony!)

Quite frankly, I wasn't that much impressed. The full blown mindless mayhem found on their previous albums (and EP) kind of toned down. Hopefully this isn't an indication of the band's shift to a more accesible sound.

Borbetomagus

My first Free Jazz, so I really have nothing to go off of as for a comparison, but I'd say they're a pretty fantastic band. They implement Noise in their sound as well. Definitely not for someone looking for any kind of melody, though if you are looking for something to find yourself in, this may just be it.

So I'm basically reposting something that has been posted by someone a while ago, id est Religious Knives. Having spun their In Brooklyn After Dark 12" just now, I thought it'd be nice to share it with all of you fags. As you have seen, it's kind of hard to put them in one little genre, but fuck that, who needs an exact genre description anyway. As the person who originally posted this said: "Some of the most amazing droning noise I've heard in a while. Though at times they're not even that noisy". The download contains several of their records, among which the aforementioned, Remains (superb!), 2, 4 and a couple of 7 inchaz!

Midori is a Japanese Hardcore/Noise band with Jazz elements.
The Band is absolutely amazing and thanks to Gabe for showing me this band.

Midori has one of the best Female Hardcore vocalists that I have heard, she also wears a Japanese School Girl outfit which is a big plus and a big turn on for me.
The Vocals and the Bass are the ones that really standout on their Releases, but sometimes Midori forgets the fact that they play music and they just bash at their Instruments to make Beautiful Noise, Well, They ARE japanese after all and we all know that when It comes to Noise, you can always trust that the Japanese could pull it off.
Mariko Goto (Vocalist/Guitarist) can shift from singing Japanese Nursery Ryhmes and into some Hardcore vox that Is totally unique.

P.S: The Chick on the Album covers of First, Midori First & Second (Heart) Is Midori's lead singer, Mariko Goto.
