Foreigner

Here is Foreigner's greatest hits. I have another greatest hits in my CD case, but until I get that on my computer this'll have to do. So yeah, Foreigner is another good ol' rock band with some killer songs like Urgent, Feels Like the First Time, Cold As Ice, and Girl on the Moon.

Greatest Hits

Aerosmith

Aerosmith... I'm not sure exactly what I should say about this band. Steven Tyler has a pretty great voice, even when he's wailing like a dying cat. So yeah, here is their greatest hits album, includes some of their well known songs such as Dream On, Sweet Emotion, Walk This Way, Back In The Saddle, and Draw The Line. I used to have another albums around here somewhere, but it's been gone for a while now. Ha. So yeah, I've been getting into my rock collection again lately, KISS, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, Motley Crue, AC/DC, Guns N Roses, shit like that. So I had to post Aerosmith on here for you guys. Enjoy.

This album is fucking great, including such songs are Learning to See, Eruption, Panama, Hot For Teacher, and Jump this 2 disc is a must have for fans of rock n roll, and fans of Van Halen. Featuring Eddie's legendary guitar work and the vocals of Mr. Sammy Hagar, and Mr. David Lee Roth.

Zum Crozzover Zrazh ya?

Shock Troopers - Shock Troopers

This band hails from Italia and sings about beer a lot, but in a good way. Where as a lot of the Stateside and UK bands use it as their only lyrical device to point out how totally cool and hardcore they are... these guys... uhh... ...do the same? the truly special thing about this band was this was the first thrash band my thrash hating friend liked.

Also, pre-warning 96kb, 's been like that since I got it.

tl;dr?
It good. U listen.

Moss - Tombs of the Blind Drugged

Moss is one of the most extreme Sludge/Drone Doom bands out there, equalled only by the French band Mönarch. So far, they have released several splits with Nadja, Mönarch, Wolfmangler and other more esoteric bands, and two full-lengths. As the description suggests, you're in for a very heavy trip of drone-ridden riffs, ecstatic vocals and a very, very oppressive atmosphere.

Chtonic Rites is their first actual full-length, released in 2005, produced by Jus Oborn. Needless to say, the production marvels at bowelling out the larger than life riffs, which are dragged to their feet by the evocative drumming. Screams cascade down over and over again. Suitable record length, sixty-six minutes and six seconds, two tracks.

Evoke.

This album can be bought through Aurora Borealis for just under £11, post-paid.

Sub Templum is their second and most recent release, one of which I'm glad to own a copy myself. This colossus features four tracks and is, as to be expected, lengthier than Cthonic Rites, clocking in at little over seventy-four minutes. As hoped, none of the misanthropic, drug-filled atmosphere has left. Riffs build up more consistently, droning on to the point where you'd nearly wish they'd hit the climax. No worries, they do. Very often.

Trist - Hin-Fort

Artist: Trist
Album: Hin-Fort
Year: 2007
Country: Germany
Genre: Ambient Black Metal/Dark Ambient

This album is one that requires a serious effort to go through, expanding over two CDs and edging very closely towards two hours in length. The first part and song is Hin, the Black Metal part. Needless to say, this one spins and whirls and expands and encompasses. It may not reach the pinnacle of the genre à la Darkspace, Paysage d'Hiver and whatnot, but this is not necessarily a bad thing. The sole member Tristan (Lunar Aurora) has chosen a slightly different composition.

Disc 2 is pure dark ambient, and quite good at that. Haunting and creeping, it's easy to contemplate what the album cover suggests.

Hark! It's A Crawling Tar-Tar

Ahh, an Indonesian hardcore gem. Their sound is usually categorized as crust punk, but they also have a lot of heavy and thrash metal influence. Pretty good production, everything has it's place and still manages to sound raw. These kids write some of the catchiest music I've ever heard.

Ea - Ea Taesse

"Ea is a funeral doom band from the US whose lyrics are sung in a recreated dead language, They currently only have one release Ea Taesse, Which is one fifty or so minute song, broken up into three parts. they sound similar to the band Shape of Despair, Other than that, Not much is known about this band."

Enjoy, kids. This one's from Lee, who spent hours battling his computer and the interweb to upload.

Despise You - West Side Horizons

Well boys and gals, it doesn't get much better than this. Abrasive power violence founded by Chris Dodge of Spazz, this compilation is mind-numbing. Some dammit powerful hardcore with grind tendencies. An onslaught of female vocals is an all too little familiarity in this genre, but Despise You delivers more than enough vocal power from both genders. The music is amazingly tight and some of the more riff-driven songs will embed themselves in your head for days. Despise You manages to keep the next track fresh every time.
Don't get too comfortable, because the song's about to change. Again.

BEAUTIFUL IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT...

Artist: Sigur Ros
Album: Takk
Genre: Post-Rock / Shoegaze

Download (Windiafire)
Download (Megawinload)

Notes:
Simply the best band EVER. Saeglopur was my first song from Sigur Ros and If I remember correctly I heard the song back in 05 or something, but never really bothered checking out the band. A year later and I ran to Sigur Ros once again during a random conversation with a friend. I read reviews and stuff about how beautiful the band is and I knew I HAD to check them out with this kind of hype....
I guess you know what happens after that.

This btw is still my favorite album, though I haven't checked the latest release from the band.

The Lord of the Sith

Artist: Sithlord
Album: The Return to Godless Times
Genre: Thrash Metal the way it should be.

Download (Mediafire)

Notes:
My favorite Thrash Metal band.
If you're into Thought Industry, 80's Metallica, or Iced Earth, then this isn't the band for you, faggot. If you are into Ghoul, first three albums Sepultura and Sarcofago, then this will be your new favorite.

Hurt - Vol. 1

Fucking awesome awesome album. I guess you could call it post-rock. This album is filled with so much emotion that it just draws me in. Everything is great, down to the guitars, the drums, the bass, the violins in the background. It all meshes to create an amazing effect.

WALKING IN THE FIELDS OF LITHUANIA WATCHING THE OCEAN ABOVE ME...

Artist: Moving Mountains
Album: Pneuma
Genre: Post-Rock / Experimental / Atmospheric

Download (Mediafire)

Notes:
I got this on a whim, see I have this weird thing with Album covers, and Moving Mountain's certainly caught my attention. and let me tell you that I am glad I took the liberty to get this. This is simply one of the best Post-Rock albums I have ever heard. How do I feel when I listen to this? please refer to post title.
A must have.

If I said anything that is out of place, please disregard it, It's too early in the morn, I haven't sleep yet and I'm not thinking straight...

Acid Bath

Here are two Acid Bath albums. First is the Hymns of the Needle Freaks demo, which is very good, in some ways better than the full release of the album. Acid Bath were a band out of the Louisiana metal scene, which just makes me love them more. They didn't get nearly as much recognition as they deserved, Venus Blue could have made it as a radio song had it not been for the graphic lyrics. Their mainstream appeal wasn't too high, and this could be accounted for with their graphic lyrics and their usage of serial killer paintings as album covers. The second album I'm putting up is Pagan Terrorism Tactics, which is a MASTERPIECE. The songs Bleed Me An Ocean, Graveflower, and Venus Blue always get to me. Both albums are lush with masterful vocal work, beautiful clean vocals being complimented by harsh screams and growls.

More southern rock

The Allman Brothers Band - A Decade of Hits 1969-1979

Lynyrd Skynyrd

I humbly offer 2 Greatest Hits compilations of the Southern Rock gods Lynyrd Skynyrd the 10 track Encore Edition and the All Time Greatest Hits. These two albums contain some of the greatest southern rock songs of all time including Sweet Home Alabama, What’s Your Name?. Gimme Back My Bullets, and Gimme Three Steps. To truly appreciate certain genres you have to appreciate the genres they in turn pay homage to. This is directed at you Sludge fans, southern rock is a big inspiration in the southern sludge bands, and Lynyrd Skynyrd is at the forefront, particularly with Weedeater.

Johnny Cash

Here is my copy of the 2 CD greatest hits collection of country legend Johnny Cash. Johnny Cash is a great musician, you'll be hooked when you first hear it. For me it was definitely Folsom Prison Blues that did it. Johnny went kind of crazy in his later years, but he kept up making great music til the day he died.

Charlie Daniels Band

Here is my copy of Charlie Daniels Band Greatest Hits. This is a great album that includes songs such as Devil Went Down To Georgia, and Long Haired Country Boy. Charlie Daniels is a really great musician, the album throws some traditional country and southern rock into the mix.

Ocoai - Breatherman

Band: Ocoai
Location: United States
Genre: Post-Rock/Sludge

When thinking of this band, the only way I'm able to put the sound to words is if Leviathan-era Mastodon had a misbegotten child with Pre-City Of Echoes Pelican that was raised on indie rock. Of course, I might be just going for the tried and true "X had a kid with Y" metaphor, but thats for you to decide once you listen to Ocoai's amazing debut.

In all seriousness, this album has an impeccable flow, once you start listening, you'll hardly realize that the song has changed because of how effortlessly Ocoai seem to be able to change ideas. The energy of this album is tremendous, with repetition building to perfect climaxes and apexes which drop into stark sections of melodic minimalism, all to start over again, building you up once more. The album is masterful in the true sense of the word.

Pass judgement...

Various Artists - Scandinavian Metal Attack, Vol. 1

Country: Sweden and Finland
Genre: Mostly heavy/speed with the two Bathory songs being Black/thrash

Various Artists - Scandinavian Metal Attack, Vol. 1

Don't be afraid... you're already dead

Akron/Family is an experimental folk rock group that has garnered my attention so well with it's beautiful vocal harmonies and bombastic, unrestrained folk rock melodies. The main members all sing, and play a vast assortment of instruments. This is not dark by any means, but it's still quite beautiful in the overall delivery. It's something I would love to take on a long road trip with some fellow stoners. I'm posting there very latest and a split they released with The Angels of Light which is the current singer-songwriter project of Micheal Gira (Swans fame). This is blissful folk music with a light-hearted attitude, but they aren't afraid to really wail out some passionate music.

Unearthly Trance

So I recently acquired the album Seasons of Seance, Science of Silence by Unearthly Trance, and I was taken aback. I'm usually not too big on Doom metal that draws influence from death metal (I like them both separately, but mixing them just spells disaster), but Unearthly Trance was very pleasant.

Wikipasta:
Although categorized as doom metal, Unearthly Trance's music draws inspiration from other forms of extreme music as well like black metal, death metal, crust punk and drone music. Their song are usually quite long, past the five minute mark and build slowly and oppressively with pounding drums and slow, loud and distorted guitars and bass buried under thick layers of feedback. The vocals are usually very harsh under the form of painful, distorted screams, and the lyrics usually deal with themes of hate, death and the occult. Unearthly Trance also ventures into more experimental sounds from time to time like ambient and noise music, giving their music a more introspective, dark and progressive vibe.

BLACK METAL OF THE DANTENIAN HELL!

Band: Dark Tribe
Album: In Jeraspunta - Die Ruckkehr der Tollwutigen Beastie
Genre: Black Metal

Notes:
Uploaded for Arnd.

Never will you hear a band such as Dark Tribe. In Jerspunta is an epic journey through the sub conscious of the human mind. the music pierce through your thoughts and your mind and it will strike your deepest fears creating a notion that isolates you to the common wants of society and creates an Image of your own Insanity.
Portal? ha, don't kid yourself, that band isn't even close to achieving what Dark Tribe did.

Lifescapes Compilations - World Flutes

Blueneck - Scars of the Midwest

Artist: Blueneck
Location: United Kingdom
Genre: Post-Rock

Contemporaries of the much more famous Mogwai, Blueneck play a similar style, with the difference being a distinct melancholic touch, with a very Pink Floyd-esque take on the sound of sadness. Visit their official site for more information here.

Lönndom

For those fans of the Black n' Roll antics of Lik and Lifelover, this band is right up your alley. This band combines the earthy feel of Norwegian folk to a twisted and construed form of Black Metal that has never before graced my ears. The atmosphere they present is like no other and truly shows the spirit of TRUE NORWEGIAN BLACK N' ROLL. (lolz) I'm also posting the newer EP that showcases a bit of new development for the band.

Arecibo - Trans Plutonian Transmissions

Artist: Arecibo
Location: Germany/Outer Space
Genre: Ambient/Noise

Weird spacey ambient-ish stuff composed of sound data from cosmological activity as original gathered by NASA. Trippy, huh?

HAVE A SPACE JOURNEY

Abusus - Lichter, Gedanken und Lieder

Abusus is a tiny project from Kermania, Graupel, The Ruins of Beverast etc... members, plenty of reasons to give it a shot. This album has been one of my favourites for the past year or so, because of its impeccable (short) run, musicianship, production, etc... Anyone who has listened to a decent amount of Black Metal will be able to appreciate this. If you don't, atleast praise its originality. Unfortunately, it is no longer available from its label, Van.

NASA Voyager - Symphonies of the Planets

"NASA Voyager Recordings

(from the back cover)...

Share the journey of a 5 billion mile trek to the outer limits of our solar system. Hear the beautiful songs of the planets. The complex interactions of the cosmic plasma of the universe, charged electromagnetic particles from the solar wind, planetary magnetosphere, rings and moons create vibration "soundscapes" which are at once utterly alien and deeply familiar to the ear. Some of these sounds are hauntingly like human voices singing, giant Tibetan bowls, wind, waves, birds and dolphins. Many are familiar in a way unique for each listener.

Voyager has left our Solar System forever. The sounds on this recording will never be made again in our lifetime........."

Vader

My buddy Eric requested Vader's cover album Reign Forever World. So here it is, this one was the shits to track down, I fucking went after this album, went through 6 forums, and 2 blogs before I finally found a link that worked. So I downloaded it, and in turn uploaded it for you fine folks. Vader is a thrashy Death Metal band (as redundant as that statement is), they come out of Poland and have a unique sound. I merit their uniqueness mainly to their vocalist who has a style that is deep, brutal, and death metal, but still understandable and clear as a bell. Reign Forever World is fucking fantastic, this has a marvelous cover of Mayhem's Freezing Moon, which I think so SOOOOOO much better than the original version.

I am also including links to other Vader albums including The Art Of War, Impressions in Blood, Litany, and the Ultimate Incantation, The Beast, De Profundis, Black to the Blind, Revelations, Future of the Past, and several others that I can't recall the full name of.

Keep off the grass

So here we go, I've got quite a haul for you of stoner shit. Just because I wanted to post that pic which my cousin sent me from his time overseas with the Air Force. I think I'll start the list off which a link to one of my personal favorites: Acrimony's Hymns to the Stone. The album has a driving groove to it, that it just perfect for the genre. Big influence on stoner doom metal, and stoner rock in general Acrimony came out of Wales in the 1990's. It's funny to me that the song Hymns to the Stone wasn't released until their 1997 release. Next I have Om's Conference of the Birds, which is another favorite of mine (particularly Flight of the Eagle), it's a 2 song album both songs are very long, and it sounds like chanting. It's got a meditative sound to it, I've been interested in doing an experiment with Om about the reaction of someone stoned to the music. It took me a while to find a working link, but I did it, the third on the list is Electric Wizard's brilliant album Dopethrone. Honestly, I'm so glad I found it because I wasn't impressed with Supercoven, so I was weary to get this and Let Us Prey. Dopethrone is a must have for a good stoner collection. I will finish off with Bongzilla's album Gateway, it's a pretty good album, it sounds real similar to their previous releases, a very consistent band, and keeps with the theme of it all. As always, I encourage you to purchase all of these albums.

Acrimony- Hymns to the Stone

On a separate note, America has a new president. Sen. Barack Obama was elected last night to become President Barack Obama, we have a challenge ahead of us, lets just pray for the better. Hopefully things won't go over too badly. And if they do we can always tear down the capitalist American infrastructure and make something better in the rubble. You know, whatever works.

Led Zeppelin

Okay, here are the four discs of Led Zeppelin Remastered and my copy of IV. Remastered is a very, very large collection of most of their works, I say most because despite having the vast majority of their music on the discs there are songs that are missing like Boogie With Stu. But whatever, some really great music all around.

Zeppelin

The Misfits

Here is my personal rip of the Misfit's final album with Glenn Danzig: Earth A.D./Wolfsblood. This album is faster and heavier than previous releases, and features a couple of songs that were meant for the debut of Samhain. This album has some great songs like Mommy, Can I Go Out And Kill Tonight, Death Comes Ripping, Queen Wasp, and Die, Die My Darling. It's a really good album, I definitely recommend it. This was my first punk album, I bought it alongside Motorhead's album Rock N' Roll.
