Woods Of Ypress are pretty alright, they have a fairly interesting folky style without actually being folky, and the music itself finds itself sporting some very enjoyable riffs at times. A good listen for walks in the forests or green hills on a cold and dreary winter day.

Notes: The band is fairly famous in the Japanese rock scene, they've been around since the early 80's and have consistently released material throughout their career. The album 13Kai Wa Gekou finds them utilizing a darker, goth-rock sound mixed with their standard poppy Rock styles, and it can be very pleasing. Good for a fan of japanese music, or anyone who can appreciate pop-stylings in a darker format. Standout tracks include "Doukeshi A" and "Romance -Incubo-".

The kings of the power electronics world, nothing is slowing down Whitehouse. Asceticists was a new release when I first heard it, and it blew me away. It's by no means as raw from start-to-finish as Bird Seed, but it's still a fantastic piece. Highly recommended for anyone looking to get into noise.

For anyone who still gives a shit about Guns N Roses. I have to admit, I stopped listening to the gunners for a long fucking time. Why? Because Axl Rose is the biggest asshole in existence. Then I realized it's hypocritical to not listen to GNR for that reason yet still listen to KISS. So here we are.

So classic rock band, a very skilled guitarist by the name of Slash, a decent bassist (and sometimes vocalist) named Duff, a drummer who I don't know the name of, and of course their singer (who is actually very good) Axl. So I have here Greatest Hits, Appetite for Destruction and 'The Spaghetti Incident?' all zipped up into a convenient package.

Alrighty, this album has a funny story behind it. One of my last international school trips hit me up with Prague, where I found an awesome shabby record store which held tons of awesome Sludge, Death, Grind, Punk etc records. I didn't have much money, as usual, so I grabbed Assück's Misery Index. Only when I got home, I noticed that the guy who runs the shop had put in an Anticapital disc, epic lulz.

Anyway, this is very short but very ... grinding. Guess it shows that good stuff can happen too when a couple of hardcore guys pick up a guitar and play Death Metal.

As you have seen, it's kind of hard to put them in one little genre, but fuck that, who needs an exact genre description anyway. As the person who originally posted this said: "Some of the most amazing droning noise I've heard in a while. Though at times they're not even that noisy". The download contains several of their records, among which the aforementioned, Remains (superb!), 2, 4 and a couple of 7 inchaz!

They've got a high energy style reminiscent of rock bands from the 80s, and a smooth chill sludgy style reminiscent of bands such as Down, and doom bands in the vein of Church of Misery. They've got a grinding style accented with heavy riffs. This is their debut album Triple Six Blues.

Southern Isolation

Okay, here is Southern Isolation's one and only album. Southern Isolation is a southern rock/folk band from Louisiana. The duo comprises Phil Anselmo and (then) wife Stephanie Opal. The band is made up of guitar and vocals, provided by Phil and Stephanie, respectively. Stephanie shows that she has a truly beautiful voice, singing lead in all the songs. Philip provides backing vocals on a couple of the tracks, and lead in the last song Southern Man I Am.

This album is executed beautifully. It's truly a shame that they only released the self titled. Just like with crust punk band Arson Anthem we're shown that Philip has mastery over the guitar as he does over singing. I honestly think all of you will get into this really easily.

Their first album, aptly called Black Shape of Nexus, still dwelled more on the sludgy kind of drone. With Microbarome Meetings, they take themselves to a whole new level. Some of you might find that certain loops portray their influences properly. I am still gobsmacked by how ... full this album is. Which shouldn't be much of a surprise, because the band comprises of no less than 7 members. Very interesting, throbbing and out-there album. Not my upload.

Alrighty then, Biosphere. This is Geir Jenssen aka Biosphere's second album, the first one being Patashnik (which I will post later on). Biosphere is considered a classic Ambient album, portraying all the characteristics you need for a lush voyage through some smooth layers. Very evocative, etc...
